When do I need to schedule my newborn session?
It is best to schedule your newborn session while you are pregnant, preferably in the 2nd or 3rd trimester. Scheduling early will ensure a spot on the calendar when your baby is still brand new and will give you those adorable, squishy, sleepy poses. However, please don't hesitate to call if your baby is already born and we will do our best to squeeze you in. We love babies!
Will the session really take 2-3 hours?
Yes! Newborns are still settling into a routine and we will often need to stop to allow for feeding and diaper changes. Please do your best to select a time when baby will be the most sleepy.
Where will the session take place?
My full sessions can take place either at my home studio, or your home. Because it requires a number of items to transport, the mini session will only be done at my studio.
What happens during the session?
Newborn sessions that take place in my home based studio are primarily focused on the baby with the last 30 minutes of the session focused on family and/sibling shots. The family portion of the session can also take place in the beginning of the session if the entire family is coming to the session so everyone is nice and fresh. You will also have access to all of my props, hats, headbands, etc. We are more than happy to incorporate special outfits and/or blankets brought by the parents.
